The way it’s always been done needs to change.

In most cases, there is no reason for having two carers, certain special cases may need it but it’s a rare occurrence. We think it’s time to rightsize your care.

What is single-handed care? Just one carer, not two.

Smarter

A Stroke or Neurological Impairment doesn’t mean your life has to stop. We off a free individual assessment, looking at everything from your blood pressure to your balance. Our Occupational Therapist’s can look at ways of compensating for limitations, maybe by prescribing equipment or changing the environment or by developing a Home Exercise Program that your Care Partners can support you to undertake.

Why is single-handed care right for me?

Promoting choice and control

We believe it’s your care, your way. If it’s your preference to have one carer and it is safe to do so we will aim to reduce your package of care to one carer.

At Sunday Care Therapy, we understand that there is no law or legalisation that states “you must have two carers” this is a myth and we are aiming to disprove it.

Maintaining dignity and respect

We understand that having a carer assist with your personal care can be a difficult experience, and that having two carers can be overwhelming. We treat everyone the way we would like to be treated.

At Sunday Care Therapy, if possible and safe to do so, we aim to have one highly skilled Care Partner, not two carers, just because that is the status quo.

Regaining independence

We understand that independence means different things to different people. Just because you need equipment to transfer, does not mean you can’t regain some independence in the process.

At Sunday Care Therapy our Care Partners work with you to regain independence in your life, even if it is something as simple as you holding the controls on your hoist.
